Summary

Mack Trucks, Inc. is recalling approximately 650 of its 2023-2024 GR, AN, LR, and Terrapro model vehicles because the engine may fail to return to idle speed within two seconds if the accelerator pedal sensor becomes disconnected. This delay in the engine slowing down fails to meet federal safety standards for accelerator control systems. Mack will resolve this safety issue by replacing the throttle pedal and updating the vehicle software at no cost to owners.

Risk

If the engine does not return to idle quickly after the accelerator is released or the sensor is disconnected, it can lead to a loss of vehicle control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
