Shaoxing Yishan Garment Co. (doing business as Signbaby) is recalling about 2,200 Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates because they fail to meet federal safety standards. The gates feature a gap between the bottom of the mesh and the floor that is large enough for a child's torso to pass through, which could lead to a child becoming trapped. These gates were sold on Amazon.com in black, gray, and white from December 2024 through May 2025 for between $33 and $38.
The opening between the gate and the floor poses a risk of serious injury or death because a child's body can slip through while their head remains trapped. While no injuries have been reported, this entrapment hazard can lead to suffocation.
Consumers should stop using the recalled gates immediately and contact Signbaby for instructions to receive a full refund. Consumers will be asked to disassemble the gates and destroy them by cutting the mesh and to send a photo of the destroyed gates to regcards.team@gmail.com. Once the photo is received, Signbaby will issue a full refund. Signbaby and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.
Measures about 33 inches high with an adjustable width up to 55 inches.
