Summary

Eveland's Inc. is recalling 25 units of the 2022 Scamp 13ft travel trailer equipped with specific Dometic 2-burner cooktops. The burner control valves on these cooktops may become damaged, which can lead to a hazardous gas leak. Eveland's will work with Dometic to replace the affected cooktops in these trailers entirely free of charge to owners.

Risk

The damaged control valves can allow propane gas to escape. If this gas leaks in the presence of an ignition source, such as a pilot light or match, it significantly increases the risk of a fire inside the trailer.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your trailer documentation or registration to confirm if you own a 2022 Scamp Trailer 13ft model.
  2. Inspect the interior of your trailer to see if it is equipped with a Dometic 2-burner cooktop.
  3. If your trailer is affected, contact Eveland's Inc. customer service at 1-218-947-4932 to arrange for a free replacement cooktop.
  4. You may also contact Dometic directly as Eveland's is working in coordination with them for this remedy.
  5. For additional information or to check your VIN, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
