Summary

Custom Molded Products is recalling approximately 16,000 diverter valve caps sold with Master Spas "Twilight Series," "H2X Swim Spa," and "MP Signature Deep Swim Spa" hot tubs and swim spas. The 2-inch clear valve caps can become loose and suddenly pop off under pressure, potentially striking anyone nearby. There have been 112 reports of these caps popping off, including four instances where consumers were struck by the cap. Consumers should stop using their spa immediately and contact the manufacturer for a free replacement cap.

Risk

The valve cap can fail and pop off with significant force, posing an impact hazard that could strike and injure bystanders.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate the 2-inch clear diverter valve cap, which is positioned under the diverter handle on the upper deck of your hot tub or swim spa, above the water line.
  2. Check the control panel cover of your spa to see if it is branded as 'Twilight Series,' 'H2X Swim Spa,' or 'MP Signature Deep Swim Spa' and was purchased between December 2017 and May 2019.
  3. Immediately stop using any hot tub or swim spa that has a recalled valve cap until it has been repaired.
  4. Visit http://wsr.masterspasportal.com/divreplacement.asp and enter your spa's serial number to confirm if your unit is affected and to order a free replacement part.
  5. Contact Custom Molded Products at 800-733-9060 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET daily, or online at www.c-m-p.com (click 'Product Recall' at the bottom of the page) for additional information or help with a replacement.
