2024-2026 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R Motorcycles Recalled for Engine Stall Risk

Summary

Kawasaki is recalling approximately 19,823 Ninja ZX-6R motorcycles from model years 2024 through 2026, including KRT Edition and ABS variants. A metal crankshaft bushing in these motorcycles can seize, causing the engine to lose power or stall unexpectedly during operation. Authorized Kawasaki dealers will re-tighten the metal crankshaft bushing free of charge to resolve the issue. Owners who had their motorcycles repaired under a previous recall (25V376) are required to have this new remedy performed.

Risk

If the crankshaft bushing seizes while the motorcycle is in motion, the engine may stall, which significantly increases the risk of a crash. Owners should not ride their motorcycles until this safety repair has been completed by an authorized dealer.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall affects Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, ZX-6R KRT Edition, ZX-6R KRT 40th Anniversary Edition ABS, ZX-6R ABS, and ZX-6R KRT Edition ABS motorcycles from model years 2024, 2025, and 2026.
  2. Stop riding this vehicle immediately and park it until the recall repair is completed.
  3. Note that even if your motorcycle was previously repaired under a prior recall (number 25V376), you must have this new remedy performed once it becomes available.
  4. Contact an authorized Kawasaki dealer to schedule an appointment for a free re-tightening of the metal crankshaft bushing.
  5. Contact Kawasaki customer service at 855-878-4217 regarding recall number MC25-11.
  6. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls for additional information.
