Summary

KTM North America, Inc. is recalling approximately 27,399 of its 2019-2023 Husqvarna and KTM motorcycles that are equipped with Continental TKC80 tires. These specific tires can develop cracks longer than 3/16 of an inch within the tread grooves, which may eventually cause the tread to separate from the tire body. Owners can take their affected motorcycles to an authorized dealer to have the tires replaced with a new set free of charge.

Risk

Cracks in the tread grooves can lead to a sudden separation of the tire tread while riding, which can cause a loss of vehicle control and significantly increase the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your 2019-2023 Husqvarna or KTM motorcycle is equipped with Continental TKC80 tires.
  2. Inspect the tread grooves of your tires for any visible cracks, specifically looking for any that are longer than 3/16 of an inch.
