Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 42,652 vehicles, specifically certain 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 Escape models equipped with 1.5L engines. A fuel injector in these vehicles may crack, allowing fuel to leak and accumulate inside the engine compartment. Ford dealers will provide a free remedy by updating the engine control software to detect fuel leaks and installing a drain tube to safely divert any leaking fuel.

Risk

Leaking fuel can come into contact with extremely hot engine or exhaust components, which can ignite the fuel and cause an engine compartment fire.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is a 2022-2023 Ford Bronco Sport or a 2022 Ford Escape equipped with a 1.5L engine.
