Summary

Rosenbauer America is recalling 13 commercial vehicles, including certain 2020-2022 Commercial F-550, 2022 Commercial M2-106, M2-112, Commercial 567, and 2021 Commander and Avenger models. These vehicles are equipped with Warn Industries VR EVO winches that feature a wireless handheld remote control. Water can enter the remote control and cause the circuit board to corrode, which may trigger the winch to operate unexpectedly without user input. Rosenbauer will notify owners to provide inspection instructions and a free replacement wired remote if necessary.

Risk

Corrosion on the remote's circuit board can cause the winch to activate unintentionally, which poses a significant risk of injury to bystanders or operators near the winch cable and equipment.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate the Warn Industries VR EVO wireless handheld remote control provided with your vehicle to check for signs of water intrusion or damage.
  2. Follow the instructions provided by Rosenbauer America to inspect the remote control circuit board for corrosion and disable the wireless functionality of the device.
