Summary

Fox Factory, Inc. is recalling approximately 1,578 vehicles, including 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler, Gladiator, RAM 1500, 2500, and Ford F-150, F-250, and F-350 models equipped with Warn winches and wireless remotes. Water can leak into the handheld remote control and corrode the internal circuit board, which can cause the winch to start operating on its own without user input. Owners are being advised to inspect their remotes and disable the wireless function to prevent unintended operation; Fox Factory will provide a free replacement if corrosion is found.

Risk

If the winch operates unintentionally due to a corroded circuit board, it can lead to unexpected movement of the cable or vehicle, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury to bystanders or the operator.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is a 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler, Gladiator, RAM 1500, 2500, Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, or a GM vehicle equipped with a Warn winch and a wireless handheld remote.
  2. Inspect the handheld remote for signs of water intrusion or corrosion by removing the battery pack according to the instructions provided by Fox Factory and Warn Industries.
  3. If you find any corrosion or water inside the battery compartment, stop using the remote immediately.
  4. Disable the wireless function of the remote by keeping the battery pack removed until the unit can be replaced.
  5. If corrosion is present, contact Warn customer service at 1-800-543-9276 to receive a replacement remote control free of charge.
  6. For additional questions, contact Fox Factory customer service at 1-831-274-6500 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
