Summary

Alexis Fire Equipment Company is recalling 3 fire apparatus vehicles from the 2022 model year, including Emergency Utility, Flatbed Brush, and 300 Gallon Mini Pumper models. These vehicles are equipped with a Warn Winch and a wireless handheld remote that can allow water to enter the internal components. This moisture causes the circuit board to corrode, which can trigger the winch to operate unexpectedly without user input. Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect their remotes and will receive a new water-resistant replacement remote free of charge once parts are available.

Risk

If the winch operates unintentionally due to circuit board corrosion, it creates a significant risk of injury to anyone near the vehicle or the winch cable.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is one of the 3 affected 2022 Alexis Fire models: Emergency Utility, Flatbed Brush, or 300 Gallon Mini Pumper Fire Apparatus equipped with a Warn Winch.
  2. Immediately inspect the handheld wireless remote for the winch for any signs of water intrusion or corrosion.
  3. Disable the wireless function of the remote right away by removing the internal battery pack.
  4. If you find any corrosion or water inside the remote when removing the battery, stop using the remote immediately and contact Warn Industries customer service for a replacement.
  5. Contact Alexis Fire customer service at 1-309-482-6121 to coordinate the receipt of a new, water-resistant replacement remote free of charge.
