Summary

Felling Trailers, Inc. is recalling 6 units of its 2022-2023 Drop-Deck and 2023 Deck-Over trailers equipped with a Warn Winch and a wireless handheld remote. Water can enter the handheld remote control and cause the circuit board to corrode, which may trigger the winch to operate unexpectedly without user input. Owners can currently resolve the safety risk by removing the remote's battery pack to disable wireless functions, and a free replacement water-resistant remote will be provided when parts become available.

Risk

If the winch operates unintentionally due to circuit board corrosion, it creates a serious risk of injury to bystanders or operators who may be caught in the moving winch cable or equipment being loaded.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your trailer is affected by checking if it is a 2022-2023 Felling Trailers Drop-Deck or a 2023 Felling Trailers Deck-Over model equipped with a Warn Winch and a wireless handheld remote.
  2. Immediately inspect the wireless handheld remote for signs of water intrusion or corrosion.
  3. Disable the wireless function of the remote by removing the internal battery pack according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. If you find any corrosion or water inside when removing the battery, stop using the remote immediately and contact Warn Industries customer service for a replacement.
  5. Contact Felling Trailers customer service at 1-888-335-5464 or Warn Industries to arrange for a free replacement water-resistant remote once the new parts are available.
  6. For additional questions, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
