Summary

Par Nado inc is recalling 331 Alto travel trailers from the 2021-2024 model years, including models R1713, R1723, F1743, F2114, A2124, and F2414. These trailers are equipped with SDS2 2-burner drop-in cooktops where internal aluminum burner tubes may fracture. This defect can lead to a gas leak inside the trailer, and dealers will inspect and repair the tubes free of charge.

Risk

The internal burner tubes can crack or break, allowing gas to escape into the living area. If this leaking gas encounters an ignition source, it can cause a fire.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your travel trailer is affected by checking your model name and year; the recall includes 2021-2024 Alto R1713, R1723, F1743, F2114, A2124, and F2414 trailers.
  2. Check if your trailer is equipped with a Suburban SDS2 2-burner drop-in cooktop, which is the component containing the defective gas valves.
  3. Contact Par Nado customer service at 1-418-426-3666 to schedule a free inspection and repair of the burner tubes. Reference recall number 2023-001 during your call.
  4. Contact any authorized Par Nado dealer to have the internal burner tubes inspected and repaired at no cost to you.
  5. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
