Pleasant Valley Teardrop Trailers LLC: Teardrop Travel Trailers Recalled for Cooktop Gas Leak and Fire Risk

Summary

Pleasant Valley Teardrop Trailers is recalling 640 of its 2023 Teardrop TAB 320s and TAB 320CSS travel trailers. These vehicles are equipped with SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktops (part numbers 3031AST and 3032AST) where the internal aluminum burner tubes may fracture. This defect can lead to a gas leak inside the trailer, which poses a serious fire hazard if the gas meets an ignition source. Dealers will install a specialized bracket to secure the components and prevent leaks free of charge.

Risk

The internal aluminum tubes connecting the gas valves can break, causing flammable gas to leak into the living area of the trailer. If this gas is ignited by a pilot light, match, or spark, it can result in a fire or explosion.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your travel trailer to see if it is a 2023 Teardrop TAB 320s or TAB 320CSS model equipped with an SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktop (part numbers 3031AST or 3032AST).
  2. If your trailer is affected, contact an authorized Pleasant Valley dealer to schedule a free installation of a reinforcement bracket for the cooktop gas valves.
  3. For further information or to verify if your specific VIN is included, contact Pleasant Valley customer service at 1-330-852-4811 ext. 23E-002.
