Summary

Winnebago Industries is recalling approximately 9,720 motorhomes, including 2020-2023 Solis, 2021-2023 Travato, and 2022-2023 Ekko models. These vehicles are equipped with Suburban Manufacturing Company SDS2 2-burner drop-in cooktops (part number 3032AST) that contain internal aluminum burner tubes prone to fracturing. This defect can lead to a gas leak inside the vehicle, which Winnebago will repair free of charge by working with the cooktop manufacturer.

Risk

The internal burner tubes can crack or fracture, allowing gas to escape. If this gas leaks in the presence of an ignition source, it creates an immediate risk of fire or explosion.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your motorhome is affected by checking your model and year: this recall includes 2020-2023 Winnebago Solis, 2021-2023 Winnebago Travato, and 2022-2023 Winnebago Ekko models.
  2. Check your cooktop to see if it is a Suburban Manufacturing Company SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktop with part number 3032AST.
  3. Contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885 to arrange for a free repair of the cooktop burner tubes.
  4. If you smell gas or suspect a leak, immediately turn off the gas supply at the tank and do not use the cooktop or any ignition sources until the vehicle has been inspected and repaired.
  5. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
