Summary

Meyer Corporation is recalling about 4,600 Circulon Premier Professional 13-Piece Cookware Sets. The 11-inch glass lid used with the 5-quart covered sauté pan can crack, break, or shatter during use, which can result in cuts to the consumer. There have been 65 reports of lids breaking or shattering, though no injuries have been reported yet. These sets were sold exclusively at Costco and Costco.com between October 2011 and March 2012 for approximately $200.

Risk

The tempered glass lid can unexpectedly fail and shatter into shards, posing a serious laceration hazard to anyone nearby. Shattering can occur while cooking or handling the lid, potentially causing deep cuts or contaminating food with glass fragments.
