Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 65,348 vehicles, including 2025-2026 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis models. A software error can cause the instrument panel display to fail, preventing it from showing critical safety information such as warning lights and gear selection. Dealers will provide a free software update to resolve the issue.

Risk

If the instrument panel fails, the driver cannot see essential safety alerts or confirm the vehicle's gear position, which significantly increases the risk of a crash. The vehicles currently fail to meet multiple federal safety standards for braking, lighting, stability control, and occupant protection.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking your VIN on NHTSA.gov beginning April 16, 2026, or by contacting FCA customer service.
  2. Contact an authorized Chrysler or Ram dealer to schedule a free update for your vehicle's instrument panel software.
  3. If you have questions, contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and mention recall number 35D.
  4. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls for more information.
