Christofersen Meats Co, Inc. is recalling approximately 3,925 pounds of Raws for Paws Ground Turkey Food for Pets because the product was found to be contaminated with Salmonella. The recall includes various packages of ground turkey chubs in 1 lb. and 5 lb. sizes, including variety packs that also contain chicken and beef. These products were manufactured between October 12, 2017, and February 2, 2018, and sold in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Salmonella can affect both the animals eating the food and the humans handling it, especially if they do not thoroughly wash their hands. Consumers who have these products should stop using them and return them for a refund.
