Summary

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling 134 units of its 2025 AC Series Cranes and DT Series Digger Derricks. These vehicles were manufactured without a critical wiring harness designed to protect the chassis lighting circuit from overloading. Without this harness, the body lighting or trailer lights can lose power suddenly, which can make the vehicle difficult to see or signal intentions to other drivers. Altec is providing a free repair kit to owners to resolve this safety issue.

Risk

A loss of body or trailer lighting reduces the vehicle's visibility to other motorists and prevents the use of signal lights, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. No incidents or injuries have been reported at this time.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking the model and year: this recall specifically covers 2025 Altec AC Series Cranes and DT Series Digger Derrick vehicles.
  2. Inspect your vehicle to see if the lighting harness is installed, or contact an authorized Altec dealer to perform this inspection for you.
  3. If the harness is missing, contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 to obtain a repair kit, which will be provided free of charge. Reference Altec recall number CSN-3295.
  4. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
