Summary

EVject, Inc. is recalling approximately 8,900 Escape Connector NACS v1.0 and v1.1 electric vehicle charging cable adaptors. These adaptors were manufactured without essential internal thermal protection, which can cause the connected charging cable to overheat during use. EVject will replace all affected adaptors with new units featuring built-in thermal protection at no cost to owners.

Risk

The lack of internal thermal protection allows the charging cable to reach dangerously high temperatures while in use, which creates a significant risk of burn injuries to anyone handling the equipment.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify your product by checking if you have an EVject Escape Connector NACS version 1.0 or 1.1 electric vehicle charging cable adaptor.
  2. Contact EVject customer service to arrange for a free replacement adaptor that includes the necessary built-in thermal protection.
  3. You can reach EVject by email at info@evject.com or by calling 1-650-308-8671 for more information on the replacement process.
