Summary

N&B Mobility Solutions LLC is recalling approximately 130 Nivion NSP01 charger adapters. These adapters have insufficient internal clearance between electrical components and lack a safety switch to prevent disconnection while active. Nivion will replace all defective adapters with a safe version at no cost to the consumer.

Risk

The inadequate clearance between internal DC busbars can lead to electrical arcing, which creates a fire hazard. Furthermore, the absence of a status switch allows the adapter to be disconnected during charging, posing a significant risk of electrical shock to the user.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify your equipment by checking for the model name 'Nivion NSP01' on your charger adapter.
  2. Use caution when handling the adapter and ensure it is not disconnected while an active charge is in progress to avoid shock.
  3. Contact Nivion customer service at 1-307-243-4122 to arrange for a free replacement of the defective adapter.
  4. Nivion will replace the defective adapters, free of charge. Owners may contact Nivion customer service at 1-307-243-4122.
  5. For additional information or questions, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
