CFMOTO is recalling about 3,630 of its 2022-2023 ZFORCE 950 HO Sport Side-by-Side Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles (ROVs). The shock absorber rod assembly can unthread and detach, causing the vehicle's suspension to collapse unexpectedly. There have been 86 reports of these shock failures, including one incident where the vehicle tipped over and caused a rib injury to the rider. The recalled vehicles were sold in gray, orange, and tan colors at CFMOTO dealers nationwide between March 2022 and June 2024.
The suspension can collapse while the vehicle is in motion if the shock absorber rod detaches, making the vehicle difficult to control and significantly increasing the risk of a crash or tip-over. One consumer has already reported impact injuries to their ribs following a vehicle tip-over incident.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ROVs, and contact an authorized CFMOTO dealer to schedule an appointment to bring the recalled vehicle into the dealer for a free repair. CFMOTO has issued a Stop Ride notice to consumers, and is contacting all registered owners and dealers directly to provide more details about the repair.
VIN is stamped on the vehicle's frame just ahead of the right rear wheel; 'CFMOTO' stamped on front; 'ZFORCE' printed on chassis side.
