Summary

CFMOTO has recalled about 2,650 of its 2024 CFORCE 800 Touring and 2024 CFORCE 1000 Touring All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). The throttle lever on these vehicles can fail to return to the idle position when released, which may cause the vehicle to continue accelerating unexpectedly. CFMOTO has received four reports of this defect, including one report of a crash resulting in a minor impact injury. The recalled ATVs were sold in gray, orange, black, and camouflage colors at CFMOTO dealers nationwide between May 2024 and August 2024.

Risk

The throttle lever may get stuck, preventing the vehicle from slowing down or stopping when the driver releases the control. This unexpected acceleration creates a serious crash hazard for the driver and others. One crash and one minor injury have already been reported.
