Summary

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling approximately 903 vehicles, including certain 2011-2025 Aerial Devices, 2011-2025 Digger Derricks, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The wire rope assembly that secures the cable entry step may have been improperly crimped, which can allow the step to detach from the vehicle while in use. Altec will provide instructions for owners to inspect the cable crimps and will provide a free replacement kit for any assemblies that were improperly secured.

Risk

If the cable entry step detaches while a person is climbing into or out of the vehicle, it increases the risk of a fall and serious injury.
