Kalmar Solutions is recalling 128 Ottawa T2 vehicles from the 2022 model year because of a defect in the hydraulic system used to maintain the vehicle. The cab tilt hydraulic cylinder, which is responsible for raising and lowering the cab for maintenance and inspection, can come apart when extended. If this happens, the entire cab can fall forward without warning. Owners can receive a free replacement cylinder from authorized dealers.
If the hydraulic cylinder fails while the cab is raised, the cab can suddenly fall forward, posing a severe risk of crushing or impact injuries to anyone standing in front of or working near the vehicle's cab.
Dealers will replace the cab tilt cylinder free of charge.
