Summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop has recalled approximately 25,000 Sulley stuffed animals in the U.S. and 1,100 in Canada. The eye of the stuffed animal can detach, which presents a significant choking risk to young children. This blue furry monster character from the Monsters movies was sold at Build-A-Bear stores and online during June 2013 for about $23. Consumers should immediately take the toy away from children and return it to any Build-A-Bear Workshop store to receive a coupon for a replacement stuffed animal.

Risk

The plastic eye on the stuffed animal can become loose and detach from the toy. If a child swallows or inhales the detached eye, it can block their airway and cause them to choke.

  2. Check the tracking label located on a sewn-in tag on the backside of the stuffed monster's leg to see if it is affected.
