Summary

Approximately 500 BRS and BULin portable liquid fuel bottles have been recalled because their closures do not meet federal child-resistant safety requirements. This defect poses a significant risk of poisoning and burns to children who may be able to open the containers. Additionally, the 530mL BRS bottle lacks a flame mitigation device, which creates a flash fire hazard. The recalled bottles were sold exclusively on Amazon.com between February and November 2023. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date. Consumers should immediately stop using these bottles, place them out of reach of children, and follow the disposal process to receive a full refund.

Risk

The fuel bottle caps are not child-resistant, which can lead to children accidentally accessing flammable fuel, resulting in poisoning or burn injuries. One model also lacks safety features to prevent flames from traveling back into the container, which can cause a flash fire.

  3. Immediately stop using the recalled fuel bottles and move them to a secure location that is out of the reach of children.
