Summary

BRP has recalled approximately 700 Ski-Doo Expedition LE, SE, and SWT snowmobiles from the 2020, 2021, and 2022 model years equipped with 900 ACE turbo engines. Fuel can leak from the fuel tank vent and drip onto hot engine parts if the snowmobile is tilted or flipped over, posing a fire hazard. There have been five reports of fires related to this defect, although no injuries have been reported. These vehicles were sold in various colors at Ski-Doo dealers nationwide between June 2019 and January 2022.

Risk

The fuel tank vent can leak fuel onto hot internal components when the vehicle is tilted or inverted, which can lead to a fire. There have been five reported incidents of fires caused by this leakage.
