Summary

Britax is recalling about 676,000 Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion strollers because the Click & Go receiver mounts that attach infant car seats to the stroller frame can damage and break. This defect can cause the car seat to unexpectedly disconnect and fall to the ground with the infant inside. Britax has received 33 reports of car seats falling and 26 reports of injuries to children, such as bumps to the head, cuts, and bruises. These strollers were sold nationwide at stores like Target, Babies R Us, and online at Amazon from May 2011 through February 2017. Britax is providing free repair kits for single strollers, while double stroller owners are advised to stop using the product as a travel system.

Risk

A damaged or broken receiver mount can cause an attached infant car seat to suddenly disengage from the stroller frame, causing the seat and the infant inside to fall to the ground. This has already resulted in 26 reported injuries to children, including head injuries, cuts, and bruising.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate the model number on your stroller: for single strollers, look on the inside of the metal frame near the right rear wheel; for double strollers, look on the front middle underside of the frame.
  2. Check if your B-Agile stroller model number is included in the long list of affected codes, such as S01298600, S865800, U341763, or U721896, or if your BOB Motion model is S888600, S912600, U391820, or U501907.
  3. Immediately stop using the Click & Go receiver mounts on single strollers and contact Britax for a free repair kit at 844-227-0300, via email at stroller.recall@britax.com, or online at us.britax.com/recall.
  4. If you own a recalled double stroller, stop using it with a car seat attached immediately; Britax advises that these double strollers should no longer be used as a travel system with car seats.
  5. You may continue to use your single or double stroller independently as a regular stroller without the car seat attached, as the hazard only applies when the car seat is mounted.
  6. Contact the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 if you have additional questions regarding this safety recall.
