Summary

Approximately 144 packages of Sirius Dog Treats (bone-shaped treats) are being recalled because the wheat germ used to manufacture the treats may contain metal fragments. The metal pieces are approximately 0.5mm in diameter and range from 3mm to 15mm in length. These treats were sold exclusively through Breadfarm's retail location in Bow, Washington. Consumers who purchased these packages should immediately stop using them and return the treats to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Risk

The treats may contain sharp metal fragments that could cause internal injury, choking, or dental damage if ingested by a pet. While the contamination occurred at the raw ingredient manufacturer, the firm is voluntarily recalling the finished treats to prevent harm to animals.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your treat packaging for 'Sirius Dog Treats' bone-shaped treats sold in 10-count cellophane packages.
  2. Verify if your package is marked with any of the following four production codes (Julian dates): 126, 136, 143, or 150. These numbers indicate the dates the dough was made, baked, and packaged.
  3. If you have an affected package, stop feeding these treats to your pet immediately.
  4. Return the product to Breadfarm at 5766 Cain's Ct, Bow, Washington, 98232 for a full refund or contact the manufacturer directly for further instructions.
  5. For additional questions or to report an issue, contact the FDA Consumer Complaint Coordinator for your region or use the FDA's safety reporting portal.
