Alliance RV, LLC: Brakes May Fail to Engage on Detached Tow Vehicle

Summary

Alliance RV, LLC is recalling 154 units of 2024-2025 Paradigm fifth wheels, including models 295MK, 310RL, 340RL, 370FB, 375RD, 380MP, 382RK, 385FL, and 395DS. The 7-way electrical connection for the brake actuator may have been wired incorrectly, which can prevent the trailer's brakes from engaging if it becomes detached from the towing vehicle. Dealers will inspect and correct the wiring free of charge to ensure the emergency braking system works as intended.

Risk

If the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle while moving, the emergency brakes may not activate due to the wiring error. This can lead to an unbraked runaway trailer, significantly increasing the risk of a crash and serious injury to others on the road.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own a 2024-2025 Alliance Paradigm fifth wheel (models 295MK, 310RL, 340RL, 370FB, 375RD, 380MP, 382RK, 385FL, or 395DS).
  2. Contact an authorized Alliance RV dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair of the brake actuator wiring.
  3. If you have questions or need help finding a dealer, contact Alliance RV customer service at 1-574-218-7165.
