Summary

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling approximately 259,033 vehicles, including certain 2021-2025 Acura TLX, 2023-2025 Acura MDX, and 2023-2025 Honda Pilot models. The brake pedal pivot pin in these vehicles was not secured properly, which can cause the brake pedal to move out of its intended position. Dealers will inspect the brake pedal assembly and replace it if necessary at no cost to owners.

Risk

A brake pedal that shifts out of position can prevent a driver from applying the brakes correctly, which significantly increases the risk of a crash or injury.

What You Should Do

  1. The recalled vehicles include 2021-2025 Acura TLX, 2023-2025 Acura MDX, and 2023-2025 Honda Pilot models where the brake pedal pivot pin may be loose.
  2. Contact an authorized Honda or Acura dealer to schedule a free inspection of the brake pedal assembly.
  3. If the inspection shows the pivot pin is not properly secured, the dealer will replace the brake pedal assembly free of charge.
  4. For further information, contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Mention Honda's internal recall numbers FLX or XLY.
  5. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls for additional details.
