Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling 5,974 model year 2024 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. The brake pedal arm in these vehicles can collapse during use, leading to a sudden and complete loss of braking function. Dealers will reinforce the brake pedal arm with a support bracket at no cost to the owner to prevent failure.

Risk

If the brake pedal collapses while driving, the driver will be unable to use the pedal to stop the vehicle. This loss of braking control significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. The recalled vehicles are model year 2024 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) models.
  2. Check your 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to determine if your specific vehicle is included in this recall. Owners can search for their VIN on the NHTSA website starting December 16, 2025.
  3. Contact an authorized Chrysler or Alfa Romeo dealer to schedule a free reinforcement of the brake pedal arm.
  4. If you have questions, contact FCA Customer Service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall code D0C.
  5. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information regarding this recall.
