Summary

Terex South Dakota, Inc. is recalling approximately 340 vehicles, including certain 2023 Optima-TC55, Optima-HRX50, Optima-HRX55, and XT Pro models. The recall was initiated because the boom rotation bearing bolts may not have been tightened properly during manufacturing. If these bolts are not secured, they can fail, causing the boom to fall and posing a serious danger to operators and bystanders. Owners will be provided with a free inspection and bolt tightening by authorized dealers to resolve the issue.

Risk

Improperly tightened boom rotation bearing bolts can fail under load, which may cause the entire boom assembly to fall unexpectedly, leading to a high risk of serious injury or death to those in or around the vehicle.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's model and year to see if it is a 2023 Terex Optima-TC55, Optima-HRX50, Optima-HRX55, or XT Pro.

  3. Schedule an appointment with an authorized Terex dealer to have the boom rotation bearing bolts inspected and tightened to the correct specification free of charge.
