Summary

Bobcat is recalling about 522 model year 2017 and 2018 Bobcat 3650 utility vehicles (UTVs) because the rear brake line can be punctured. If this occurs, the brakes can fail entirely, which poses a serious crash hazard to the driver and bystanders. These white and black vehicles with orange decals were sold at Bobcat dealers nationwide between May 2016 and February 2019 for approximately $24,000 to $29,000. Owners should contact a Bobcat dealer for a free inspection and repair.

Risk

The rear brake line is positioned such that it can become punctured during use, leading to a sudden loss of braking power. This failure significantly increases the risk of a collision or crash, although no injuries have been reported to date.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate your vehicle's identification number (VIN) on the label affixed to the vehicle frame under the passenger seat and storage bin.
  2. Check if your VIN falls within the following ranges: for model year 2017, VINs 17001 through 17308; for model year 2018, VINs 18001 through 18344.
  3. Immediately stop using any affected 2017-2018 Bobcat 3650 utility vehicle.
  4. Contact a Bobcat dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair of the rear brake line system.
  5. Reach out to Bobcat directly at 800-743-4340 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or online at www.bobcat.com under the 'For Owners' tab for more information.
  6. Call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 if you have additional questions regarding this recall.
