Summary

BlenderBottle is recalling approximately 48,000 Whiskware™ glass dressing shaker bottles. The recall was initiated because the bottom of the glass bottle can break when the internal metal agitator ball strikes it, posing a risk of cuts to users. While there have been 12 reports of the glass bottoms breaking, no injuries have been reported. These bottles were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond and other stores, as well as online at Amazon.com, from July 2016 through January 2017. Affected consumers will receive two free replacement plastic shakers for each returned glass bottle.

Risk

The glass bottom of the shaker can shatter if it is struck by the internal stainless steel wire agitator during use. This creates a laceration hazard from broken glass fragments.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your shaker to see if it is the affected model: it should be a glass bottle measuring 8.7 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter, holding 2.5 cups of liquid, with 'Whiskware™' and a volume scale printed in white on the side.
  2. Verify the bottle features a white plastic lid and pour spout with a round, stainless steel wire agitator inside.
  3. Immediately stop using the recalled glass dressing shaker bottles.
  4. Contact BlenderBottle toll-free at 855-906-5717 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday, or online at www.whiskware.com/recall to arrange for the return of your glass shaker.
  5. Upon returning the recalled glass shaker, you will receive two free replacement plastic shakers from the company.
  6. For additional questions, contact the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772.
