Summary

Benetton is recalling about 93 United Colors of Benetton boys jackets because they have a drawstring at the waist that can become snagged or caught in small spaces or vehicle doors. These 100% cotton navy hooded jackets were sold in boys sizes S through XL at Benetton stores and online at benetton.com and zappos.com from January 2014 through March 2014. While no incidents or injuries have been reported, consumers should immediately remove the drawstring or contact the company for a full refund.

Risk

The drawstring at the waist can get caught on vehicle doors or other objects, posing a significant entanglement and dragging hazard to children.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your jacket for the style number 2GQ1534Q0, which is located on a white label inside the jacket near the waist.
  2. Verify if the jacket has a green label at the center back neck with 'United Colors of Benetton' printed on it.
  3. Immediately remove the brown drawstring from the waist of the jacket to eliminate the entanglement hazard.
  4. Alternatively, contact Benetton at (800) 535-4491 from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for a full refund.
  5. Visit www.benetton.com and click on the 'Recall' tab under the 'Product Recall' section on the bottom left of the homepage for more information.
  6. Contact the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 for additional questions regarding this recall.
