Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling 32 model year 2023 Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. An electrical short can occur because a 12-volt battery isolator post was installed incorrectly. This defect can cause the vehicle to catch fire while it is parked or being driven. Dealers will correct the isolator to fit the anti-rotation stud at no cost to the owners.

Risk

The incorrectly installed battery post can cause an electrical short circuit, leading to a vehicle fire. Because of the fire risk, owners should park their vehicles outdoors and away from houses or other structures until the repair is finished.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle registration or VIN to confirm if you own a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
  2. Park this vehicle outdoors, away from structures — do NOT park in a garage or near your home due to the risk of a fire while the vehicle is parked.
  3. Contact an authorized Chrysler dealer to schedule a free repair; dealers will properly seat the battery isolator onto the anti-rotation stud.
  4. If you have additional questions, contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and mention recall number B0A.
  5. For further assistance, call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
