Summary

Navistar, Inc. is recalling approximately 791 of its 2023 International HV and 2023-2024 International MV vehicles because the battery box may not be securely attached. The assembly bolts used to secure the battery box to the mounting bracket may be loose or missing. Owners of these vehicles should contact a Navistar dealer to have all four mounting bolts replaced and tightened correctly at no cost.

Risk

If the bolts are loose or missing, the battery box can completely detach from the vehicle while in motion. This creates a significant road hazard for other motorists and increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own an affected vehicle: this recall specifically involves 2023 International HV and 2023-2024 International MV models.
  2. Contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 to confirm if your vehicle's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is included in this recall (Internal Recall Number 23506).
  3. Schedule a service appointment with an authorized Navistar dealer who will replace and tighten all four battery box assembly bolts free of charge.
