Summary

Diamond C Trailer MFG is recalling 1,432 of its 2023-2024 MFG and Pacesetter trailers. The weld connecting the axle frame bracket assembly to the trailer frame may fail, which can significantly reduce the trailer's stability while it is being towed. To address this safety issue, authorized dealers will install a locking flange nut to the torsion hanger frame at no cost to the owner.

Risk

A weld failure in the axle frame bracket assembly can cause the trailer to become unstable or difficult to control while in motion. This sudden loss of stability increases the risk of a crash for the towing vehicle and other motorists.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your trailer to see if it is a 2023-2024 Diamond C MFG or Pacesetter model.
  2. If you own an affected trailer, contact Diamond C customer service at 1-903-572-2834 to discuss the recall and locate an authorized dealer.
  3. Schedule a free appointment with an authorized dealer to have a locking flange nut installed on the torsion hanger frame to reinforce the assembly.
  4. For additional information, you may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
