Nexus RVs, LLC: Motorhomes Recalled Due to Awning Fabric Detaching and Dropping

Summary

Nexus RVs, LLC is recalling 103 motorhomes from the 2022 model year, including Triumph, Phantom, Viper, Ghost, Rebel, Wraith, and Verrado models equipped with certain Lippert electric retractable awnings. The welded seam on the awning fabric may separate, which can cause the awning to drop unexpectedly or extend further than intended. Owners of these vehicles should contact a dealer to have their awning inspected and, if necessary, replaced for free.

Risk

If the awning fabric seam fails, the awning can drop suddenly or extend beyond its normal range. This creates a falling hazard that increases the risk of injury to anyone standing near or under the awning.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle registration or purchase documents to confirm if you own a 2022 Nexus RV Triumph, Phantom, Viper, Ghost, Rebel, Wraith, or Verrado motorhome.
  2. If your motorhome is one of the affected models, contact a Nexus RV dealer to schedule a free inspection of the electric retractable awning fabric and welded seams.
  3. If the dealer determines the awning is defective, they will replace it at no cost to you.
  4. For more information or to check your vehicle's status, contact Nexus RV customer service at 1-574-970-0848 and reference recall number 058-001-2022 Lippert.
