Summary

BMW of North America is recalling 9 units of the 2025 MINI Countryman S ALL4 and JCW Countryman ALL4 because an armrest support bracket on the rear door panel may be loose. This defect allows the armrest to detach when an air bag is triggered during a crash. To fix this, dealers will replace the rear door panels on both sides for free. Although these vehicles were not yet sold from dealer inventory, owners who have taken delivery can contact MINI customer service for assistance.

Risk

If the vehicle is in a crash and the air bags deploy, a loose armrest can break off and hit a passenger in the back seat. Additionally, the detached armrest may prevent the side air bag from protecting the passenger properly, increasing the risk of injury.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's registration or door jamb label to see if you own a 2025 MINI Countryman S ALL4 or a 2025 JCW Countryman ALL4.
  2. Contact any authorized MINI dealer to schedule a free replacement of the left and right rear side door panels.
  3. If you have questions, contact BMW/MINI customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
  4. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
