Summary

Arctic Cat is recalling approximately 2,700 model year 2014 and 2015 Prowler 500 HDX off-highway utility vehicles. Fuel can leak from the fuel fitting at the engine's throttle body, which creates a serious risk of fire. No incidents or injuries have been reported, but owners should act immediately to have the vehicle repaired for free by an Arctic Cat dealer.

Risk

A fuel leak can occur at the throttle body fitting during operation or while the vehicle is idling. If this fuel comes into contact with a hot engine component or another ignition source, it can cause the vehicle to catch fire.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on your Prowler 500 HDX; it is printed on the rear frame tube underneath the back of the cargo box.
  2. Check if your model year 2015 Prowler 500 HDX is affected by verifying if your VIN falls within the range 303194 through 305166. All model year 2014 Prowler 500 HDX vehicles are included in this recall.
  3. Confirm your vehicle matches the description: vehicles are green, red, vibrant red metallic, or emerald green metallic with 'Arctic Cat' on the hood and tailgate, '500' on the front fenders, and 'HDX' on the rear cargo box.
  4. Immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact an Arctic Cat dealer to schedule a free repair.
  5. For more information or to find a dealer, contact Arctic Cat at 800-279-6851 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.arcticcat.com and click on 'Customer Care' then 'Product Recall'.
