Summary

Arctic Cat has recalled approximately 2,300 of its Model Year 2014 Prowler 500 HDX Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles (ROVs). Fuel can leak from the fuel fitting at the throttle body, which creates a serious fire hazard. These two-seat vehicles were sold at dealerships nationwide from August 2013 to January 2014 for between $11,000 and $12,400. Arctic Cat is providing free repairs to all affected owners.

Risk

Fuel leaks at the vehicle's throttle body fitting can ignite, posing a fire hazard to the driver and passengers. While no injuries or incidents have been reported yet, the risk of fire during or after operation is significant.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle to see if it is a Model Year 2014 Arctic Cat Prowler 500 HDX. Look for 'Arctic Cat' on the hood and cargo box tailgate, '500' on the front fenders, and 'HDX' on the rear cargo box.
  2. Identify your vehicle color; affected models come in green, red, vibrant red metallic, or emerald green metallic.
  3. Immediately stop using the recalled Prowler 500 HDX vehicle to avoid the risk of a fuel leak or fire.
  4. Contact an authorized Arctic Cat dealer to schedule a free repair of the fuel fitting.
  5. For more information, contact Arctic Cat at 800-279-6851 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.arcticcat.com and select 'Customer Care' then 'Product Recall'.
