Summary

Apex Gaming PCs is recalling approximately 17,730 Manik- and Apex-branded ATX computer power supplies because they lack required warning labels about electrical shock and electrocution. These units, which were sold individually and inside gaming computers, can be black or white and range from 450W to 1200W. If a consumer opens or disassembles the unit without seeing the missing safety warnings, they face a risk of serious injury or death. No injuries have been reported to date.

Risk

The units do not have a permanent warning label identifying electrical shock hazards, which may lead consumers to open or disassemble the device, potentially exposing them to high-voltage internal components.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you have a Manik- or Apex-branded ATX Computer Power Supply by checking the label on the side of the unit for the brand name and wattage (450W, 750W, 1000W, or 1200W).
  2. Stop using the recalled power supply immediately and do not, under any circumstances, attempt to open, disassemble, or service the unit.
  3. Contact Apex Gaming PCs Inc. at 833-946-1418, email Support@ApexGamingPCs.com, or visit https://apexgamingpcs.com/pages/psu-recall to request a free repair kit consisting of a permanent, heat-resistant adhesive safety label.
  4. If you are uncomfortable applying the safety label yourself, you may request a free replacement power supply unit and a prepaid shipping label to return the original unit.
  5. Call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 for additional questions regarding this recall.

Your Remedy Options

๐Ÿ“‹Repair, Replace

Consumers should stop using the recalled computer power supplies immediately and contact Apex Gaming PCs Inc. for a free repair in the form of one permanent, UL-recognized, heat-resistant adhesive safety label containing an ANSI-compliant "Danger/Warning" shock hazard and "No User-Serviceable Parts" label sticker to be mailed to the consumer via U.S. Mail. Consumers who are uncomfortable adding the UL-recognized safety label can request a free replacement unit. Replacement units will be sent free of charge, and the original unit must be returned using the same box and provided shipping label that is sent with the replacement unit. Consumers should not, under any circumstances, attempt to open, disassemble, or service the power supply unit.
