Summary

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling approximately 36 of its 2025-2026 Digger Derrick and 2025-2026 Aerial Device vehicles. The front-end radar on these vehicles was improperly installed, which can cause the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Active Brake Assist (ABA) systems to malfunction. Owners are encouraged to contact Altec to arrange a free inspection and, if necessary, a radar remounting and calibration performed by an authorized dealer.

Risk

The improperly installed radar can cause the vehicle's brakes to activate unexpectedly while driving without any input from the driver. This sudden and unintended braking increases the risk of a rear-end collision or crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate your vehicle's identification information to determine if it is a 2025-2026 Digger Derrick or a 2025-2026 Aerial Device affected by Altec recall number CSN-3309.
  2. Contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 to schedule an inspection of your vehicle's front-end radar installation.
  3. If the radar is found to be incorrectly installed, Altec will instruct you to take the vehicle to an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) chassis dealer to have the radar remounted and calibrated free of charge.
  4. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls for additional information regarding this recall.
