Summary

Blue Bird Body Company is recalling 109 All American transit buses from the 2022-2024 model years. A software error in the instrument cluster can cause the air pressure gauges and both visual and audio low air warnings to stop working. This failure means drivers may not be alerted to a loss of air pressure in the braking system, and dealers will provide a free software update to fix the issue.

Risk

If the air gauges and warnings fail to alert a driver to a loss of air pressure, the vehicle could be operated without functioning brakes, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking for 2022-2024 Blue Bird All American transit buses in your fleet.
  2. Contact a Blue Bird dealer to schedule a free update for the instrument cluster software.
  3. If you have questions, contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242 and reference recall number R23CH (NSB).
