Winnebago Industries, Inc.: Various Motorhomes Recalled for Air Bag Deployment Failure

Summary

Winnebago is recalling approximately 15,572 motorhomes, including various Revel, Navion, Porto, View, Vita, Adventure Van, and Ekko models. The recall was issued because the wiring for the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) can get caught in the seat adjustment mechanism when the driver or passenger seats are moved. Winnebago will provide free inspections and re-route the wiring for all affected owners to ensure the safety systems function correctly.

Risk

If the wires are caught in the seat mechanism, they can become damaged or severed, which may prevent the air bags from deploying during a crash. This failure significantly increases the risk of serious injury to the driver or passenger in the event of an accident.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's model and year to see if it is one of the following: 2017-2025 Revel, 2020-2025 Navion, Porto, View, or Vita, 2022-2023 Adventure Van, or 2024-2025 Ekko motorhomes.
  2. Contact a Winnebago dealer to schedule a free inspection and wiring re-routing.
  3. If you have further questions, contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885 and reference recall number 185.
  4. Call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
