Summary

Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. is recalling 450 of its 2022-2023 Phaeton, Allegro Bus, and Zephyr motorhomes built on PowerGlide chassis. In these vehicles, the air conditioning compressor can fail in a way that trips a fuse, which unexpectedly cuts power to the entire chassis. This loss of power can cause the engine to stall while the vehicle is in motion, and dealers will provide a free inspection and install a new wiring harness and inline fuse to fix the issue.

Risk

If the air conditioning compressor fails and trips the fuse, the engine may suddenly stall, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's make and model to see if it is a 2022-2023 Tiffin Phaeton, Allegro Bus, or Zephyr motorhome built on a PowerGlide chassis.
  2. Contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661 to schedule a free inspection and repair of the chassis controller and installation of a new harness and inline fuse.
  3. Reference Tiffin's internal recall number TIF-131 when speaking with the customer service representative or your local dealer.
  4. For additional information or questions, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
